Dear parents,

We are the sports club affiliated with Grundschule am Brandenburger Tor and use the school’s sports facilities for our activities.

We offer sports for all age groups in friendly groups and a relaxed atmosphere—not with a focus on performance, but for the joy of being active, to unwind after everyday life and to support good health.

Our sports programs:

Judo at Our School – Partnership with SC Lotos Berlin e.V.

Judo training is held regularly in our gym in collaboration with SC Lotos Berlin e.V.

Judo teaches many important values, including courage, respect, courtesy, self-control and friendship. The classes are suitable for beginners and start with a free four-week trial.

Jacob and Johannsen Music School

 

Supplementary music lessons (Mondays, Wednesdays)


As part of our music education program, Musikschule Jacob & Johannsen offers modern music lessons that put the enjoyment of music first. Individual support helps lay a strong foundation for each child’s musical development.


What we offer: 🎵 One-to-one lessons in a familiar learning environment 🎵 Weekly music lessons as part of after-school care 🎵 Instrument lessons: piano, guitar, singing and drums 🎵 Opportunity to join the school choir 🎵 Instruments available to borrow or rent for practising at home

Arabic lessons – In cooperation with Arabischen Berliner Tor e.V.

The classes are offered in cooperation with Arabisches Berliner Tor e.V. and are open to all children who want to strengthen their heritage language or are simply curious about Arabic.


We’re starting the new school year full of enthusiasm for our Arabic classes!

This takes place on Wednesdays
during period 6 (13:15 – 14:00), period 7 (14:20 - 15:05) or period 8 (15:15 - 16:00) in room 514.

​Placement is determined by the teacher on an individual basis.

For children who would like to take their first playful steps in learning English, we offer an English-language extracurricular club in cooperation with Lingualand GmbH.

Turkish is also available through our heritage language programme! This offer is open to children in all grades 1 to 6.

Learning support


📘 Learning support through the Education and Participation Package (BuT)

Our school offers learning support for students who need help with their schoolwork. This support is provided through the Education and Participation Package (BuT) and is free of charge for eligible families.

Learning support is provided in collaboration with our provider, tjfbg gGmbH (Technische Jugendfreizeit- und Bildungsgesellschaft). Experienced education professionals offer targeted support in small groups or one-to-one sessions, depending on each child’s individual needs.

Requirements:

There is a specific need for additional learning support (e.g. risk of not being promoted to the next grade, difficulties in individual subjects)

  • An application is submitted to the responsible Jobcenter or social welfare office
  • The school confirms the need for support

Learning support takes place in the school premises outside regular class hours.
