Science Department

The “Natural Sciences” subject covers the following topics in Years 5 and 6 at our primary school:

• Introduction to the new subject
• The World of Big and Small
• Plants, Animals and Habitats
• Sun, Weather and Seasons
• Handling Everyday Materials
• Physical Health and Development
• Body and movement

These subject areas are often interconnected.

Our particular focus is on developing practical skills through the combined application of subject knowledge, methodological skills and social skills.

The subject “Natural Sciences” is taught as a core subject.

Russian is also taught in the SESB programme.
